A share-a-thon is a place where teachers can voluntarily upload their files for other teachers to use. When a teacher submits a file, it is catalogued and placed into a database.

 

Subduction Boundary Lab
In this lab activity, you will plot and compare actual earthquake foci data from two areas where subduction is currently occurring. One of the areas includes the Tonga Islands in the southwest Pacific Ocean. The other area is along the coastline of Chile.

Plotting Epicenters
The data below shows the P- and S-wave arrival time difference determined from seismograms from three different cities, for three different earthquake events. Use your travel time curve to determine the distance to epicenter for each city/earthquake.

Pacific Rim Tour
