World Map (Mercator)
Here are a few nice USGS maps that might be useful. I copied the maps onto transparencies and created a lab where students ultimately overlaid the transparencies to compare and contrast the locations of earthquakes, volcanoes, and plate boundaries.

Regents Questions
Here are regents questions for Plate Tectonics.

San Andreas Fault [slide By Slide Description]
Fault movement, especially at plate boundaries, is largely an underground or even underwater process hidden from our view. But the boundary between the North American and Pacific Plates interfaces in a line that runs from the Mexican border north.

Students will identify cities based on latitude and longitude information.

Students use their reference tables to answer questions regarding earthquake epicenters and time of origin.

Metamorphic Rocks
An introduction and intended to familiarize students with using their ESRT for metamorphic rocks. Should be followed up by an identification laboratory.

Students use page 2 + 3 of their Earth Science Reference Tables to answer questions about New York State Landscapes.

Plotting Epicenters
The data below shows the P- and S-wave arrival time difference determined from seismograms from three different cities, for three different earthquake events. Use your travel time curve to determine the distance to epicenter for each city/earthquake.
